Marilyn Mosby: From Prosecutor to Convicted Felon

Former Baltimore Prosecutor Sentenced to Federal Prison

A Journey from Prominence to Infamy

Born January 22, 1980, Marilyn Mosby emerged as a rising star in the American legal system. Elected as the States Attorney for Baltimore in 2015, she gained national recognition for her bold decision to prosecute six police officers in the 2015 death of Freddie Gray.

However, Mosby's once-promising career took a dramatic turn in May 2024, when she was charged with federal racketeering, perjury, and fraud. The indictment alleged that she had abused her position to line her own pockets and enrich her family.

On May 23, 2024, Mosby was convicted on all charges. Facing a potential prison sentence of up to 47600, she was allowed to walk free pending her sentencing hearing. The once-celebrated prosecutor is now facing the grim reality of serving time behind bars.
