Former RAF Terrorist Daniela Klette Arrested
After decades on the run, Daniela Klette, a suspected former member of the far-left Red Army Faction (RAF), has been arrested in Germany.
Klette, 64, was wanted in connection with the deaths of nine people, including a police officer and a federal prosecutor, between 1977 and 1989.
She was arrested in a police raid on a farm in the eastern German state of Thuringia on Monday evening.
Klette's arrest is a major breakthrough in the decades-long manhunt for RAF members who remain at large. The RAF was a violent left-wing terrorist group that carried out a series of bombings and assassinations in Germany in the 1970s and 1980s.
The group disbanded in 1998, but several of its members have never been found. Klette's arrest is likely to renew calls for a full accounting of the RAF's crimes.
