College Roundup: Chadron State College Rallies Past Jamestown for First Win of Season

Chadron State College football team rallied past Jamestown College 24-21 Saturday afternoon in Jamestown, North Dakota, for their first win of the 2023 season.

The Eagles trailed 21-10 in the fourth quarter before scoring two touchdowns in the final seven minutes to secure the victory.

Sophomore quarterback Jayden Johannsen threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter, including the game-winner to tight end Mason Hamilton with 1:03 remaining.

Chadron State College Volleyball

The Chadron State College volleyball team won their third straight match on Saturday, defeating the University of Mary 3-1 in Bismarck, North Dakota.

The Eagles won the first two sets 25-17 and 25-19, but the Marauders rallied to win the third set 25-23.

Chadron State closed out the match with a 25-18 victory in the fourth set.

Chadron State College Men's Basketball

The Chadron State College men's basketball team opened their season with a 72-65 win over the University of Wyoming at Casper on Friday night in Casper, Wyoming.

The Eagles led by just two points at halftime, but they pulled away in the second half to secure the victory.

Senior forward Mason Rohrich led Chadron State with 18 points, while junior guard Jaeden Vaifanua added 15 points.

Chadron State College Women's Basketball

The Chadron State College women's basketball team lost their season opener to the University of Wyoming at Casper 76-65 on Friday night in Casper, Wyoming.

The Eagles trailed by just four points at halftime, but the Thunderbirds pulled away in the second half to secure the victory.

Junior guard Kennedy Gregoire led Chadron State with 16 points, while senior forward Allie O'Brien added 14 points.
